Compostable
There are regularly new accusations against compostable products made from biological plastics. The discussion usually centers on the duration of the composting process. And with it, the excessive amount of unusable residues from products that do not deliver what they promise.
The new amendment to the biowaste ordinance addresses precisely this issue, calling for a drastic reduction in the composting time of such bioplastics. According to the latest ordinance, these materials must completely decompose within 6 weeks in an industrial composting plant. This is then confirmed by DINplus certification.
The duration of the composting process depends on three factors:
- the external conditions during decomposition (temperature, humidity, etc.)
- the thickness of the material
- the quality of the raw materials used
BIOvative products already meet these requirements TODAY. Thanks to the technological nature of our bags we achieve this goal
- with consistent quality
- less thickness
- a share of > 60 % of renewable raw materials
Due to the values we set and our tireless energy, our bags from BIOvative are already approved today for a climate-neutral tomorrow.
